Emmizah, Ital Sounds Riddim Clash,
repping your Hood CHAMPION
|
Emmizah whose real name is Emmanuel Francis emerged as the
overall HOOD CHAMPION in the maiden edition of Ital Sounds Riddim Clash,
repping your HOOD which was held on Sunday December 6, 2015 at the open arena
of the ground floor of Silverbird Galleria situated on Ahmadu Bello Way,
Victoria Island, Lagos.
The second of five children whose nationality is Ghanaian,
was born in Lagos State, Nigeria on December 23 in the mid-eighties. He decided
to trade the part of reggae music because of its conscious vibes and his love
in upholding the truth at all times.
In attendance was the ‘under pressure’ master himself – Ras
Kimono, one among the reggae music pioneers of the late eighties and early
nineties alongside her daughter – Oge Kimono who doubles as a dancehall and
sing-jay artiste.

Other dancehall reggae artistes that added glamour to the
event are AJ’s veteran – Daddy Fresh, AJ’s Beenie Man’s endorsed dancehall
rude-bwoy (boy) – Maggi and the Akwa – Ibom State lyrical dynamite – Spydaman.
Kicking off the Ital Sounds Riddim Clash officially, host
& convener, Covenant Child simplified the essence of this kind of music
history-making event before the invited Special Guests, audience cum fun
seekers and other reggae genre lovers present at the Silverbird Galleria.

Daddy Fresh and Spydaman also gave words of wisdom and
encouragements to all the participating reggae dancehall rookies.
At the sound of lyrical clash bell, one after another, the
reggae dancehall rookies burst the mic with their lyrical creativity on reggae dancehall
tunes supplied by DJ Smokey who was totally in-charge and in control of the
turntable.

The first round witnessed Emmizah against Jeff. Emmizah
emerged, champion as MD Righteous, Jah Meek, Big Man and Nick Ben emerged
champions respectively.
The second round was very challenging as hood reps, lyrically
clashed themselves. Emmizah confidently secured his spot in the final as he
knocked out MD Righteous while Nick Ben knocked out Big Man.
Repping Festac from Left is Jah Meek,

Jah Meek repping Festac who had NO contender had to clash
with Nick Ben on the theme “Motherhood”. Nick Ben lyrical creativity out
powered Jah Meek secures for himself a spot in the final with Emmizah repping
AJ City.
Despite the additional ‘odd’ job – haircut, Emmizah does to
survive, pay for his studio sessions and his un-inviting facial looks. His
confident display of showmanship and ownership of the stage held the Special
Guests Spellbound as the audience could not stop screaming on his lyrical and
rhythmical creative punches on the four different reggae tunes DJ Smokey
supplied him and Nick Ben.
Like the host & convener would always say – everything is
everything.
We give thanks to Jah Almighty for a successful outing
listeners of Ital Sounds who came out with their families to route for either AJ
City or Festac totally enjoyed themselves. Prospective brands are now gearing
up to partake in the second edition, which might be taking place in Festac come
2016.
