The yearning for conscious and decent lyrical content especially from performing entertainers, most importantly new reggae breeds mostly dancehall reggae artiste, welcomes a symbiotic musical relationship spread out amongst these three personalities; Kunle kuti of Afrofusion Entertainment, Lucia Ikediashi of Shimmers Production Services and Covenant Child of Ital Sounds System.
On Tuesday 2 February, 2016 The New Afrika Shrine emerged as the rightful venue for Afrofusion Reggae Dancehall Nite with Covenant Child (Ital Sounds System).This weekly reggae event known as a “dance” within the confines of reggae dancehall parlance succeeded in mesmerizing the Shrine’s stage with sweet, authentic, undiluted and strictly dancehall, lovers’ rock, roots, culture reggae music.
One unique attribute of Ital Sounds System is not play for her joliment and pleasure but for the ITALIST (followers of Ital sounds). Initially the event (dance) was fixed at Tuesday’s 7pm to 11pm. But to our utter surprise the Italists demanded for an extension to 3am Wednesday morning. Amazingly, the Italist even stay beyond 3am asking for more by their screaming out …strictly reggae music …you can’t refuse it.
Daddy Showkey, Daddy Fresh, African China and Jamaica’s dancehall super star Beenie Man have all endorsed dancehall sensation from AJ City – Maggy. Beenie Man gave his nod to the ghetto star in 2004 when he was in Lagos-Nigeria. These cream of artistes are amongst Nigeria’s entertaining performers that have passed through the Afrofusion Reggae Dancehall Nite with Covenant Child (Ital Sounds System).
The next big reggae dancehall sing-jay cum toasters to be celebrated at the break of dawn been groomed by the Artiste Developmental arm of Ital Sounds System are; Born Star, Big Man, Gilo Ranks and the newly discovered Nature Bantu.
Ital Sounds System is NOT different from other Sounds System in Jamaica, Europe, America, Japan or even Kenya.
